“My job isn’t just to deal with the roads and sewerage which I usually do but to work on the creation of a normal and common life in the territory of my municipality which is directly in my jurisdiction, and anywhere and everywhere”, said at the debate in Caglavica, Branimir Stojanovic, the Mayor of Gracanica Municipality.
“It is more than clear that what we have done in the previous period as leaders of Srpska as well as the officials, mayors of municipalities, shows that we are willing to build a joint life”, said at the public debate in Caglavica, Branimir Stojanovic, the Mayor of Gracanica Municipality.
At the debate on the topic of “Waiting for the new Kosovo government”, which was held in Media Center in Caglavica, Branimir Stojanovic, the Mayor of Gracanica, said that there was stability in Kosovo and that deputies of the Serbian community at the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo had contributed to that stability.
“Mayor of the Municipality of Gracanica said: “In relation to local self-government, there are certainly a lot of problems that we cannot solve by ourselves and a specific intervention from the central level not only in financial but also in the technical sense are required. Many decisions have to be made, but also the decisions related to the further dialogue process in Brussels, that is the implementation of what was agreed, which is primarily the formation of the Association of Serbian municipalities. We will have a lot of technical and functional problems that we won’t be able to solve until all of this is not implemented. We will certainly be a factor of stability and we will not conduct any politics which aim is causing the damage to someone else, but we will clearly define our interests, very clearly we will define what is the red line in the negotiations over a future government and what will have happened for us to be a partner in the creation of a new government.”
Speaking of finding those responsible for the murders in Kosovo and kidnappings that have not been solved to the present, Branimir Stojanovic said there were no dilemmas about building a joint future, but the truth about the past have to exist.
Stojanovic said: “It is more than clear that what we have done in the previous period as leaders of Srpska as well as the officials, mayors of municipalities, shows that we are willing to build a joint life. And the visit of the president of Kosovo a few days ago shows that we are working on it, but not in that way we will be silent about our problems, not in that way we will only talk about someone wants to hear and to get any kind of financial reward for that. We should go forward, we should look forward, to overcome the problems not to be their slaves, but we need to be honest because we do not talk about these problems. How to look into the eyes of the families we meet every day and how to talk about the future and they haven’t got the answer on the most important question for them. It would be hypocritical on our part. I didn’t say that the rights of Serbian and Albanian families are major or minor, but I am the representative of the Serbs and it is my task to keep presenting that task.”
He repeated that communication with Belgrade will always have existed.
Branimir Stojanovic emphasized: “We don’t hide that we have a two-way communication with Belgrade. This relationship exists and will always exist. The easier people reconciles with that the easier we will go further together. Because in this relationship there is nothing that could be harmful for the Albanians.”
Except of the Mayor of the Municipality of Gracanica Branimir Stojanovic, the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare in technical government of Kosovo Nenad Rasic and political analyst from Pristina Belul Beqaj were also speaking at the debate held in Caglavica.
