Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, received today the young footballers of the School of Football “28. Jun” from Gračanica and congratulated them on that occasion on the success they achieved at the Memoris Cup in Niš.
In a very strong competition, the young footballers of the school, boys born in 2012 and 2008, took the second place in both competitions, while Mateja Jovanović was selected as the best player of the tournament in the category 2012.
“I am six years old, and I scored 10 goals at the tournament and I am very happy. Participation in the tournament is an incentive to me to train even more in order to be even better”, said Mateja.
His namesake and team captain, Mateja Velić says the impressions from the competition are phenomenal.
“It was great at the tournament, everything we did was good. In the finals we missed the luck, we lost the penalty shoot-out. The second place is a great success and we are very satisfied. We met new friends and I hope we will play again”, said Mateja Velić.
The Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, who wished them a lot of successful tournaments, congratulated them on great success.
“Every success of these young people is our success. They show us how many talented children we have and how much we should be proud of them. That is why our main task is to provide them with all the conditions for proper development, healthy and carefree growing up, and the Municipality of Gračanica will try to create such conditions for them”, said Popović.
According to one of the coaches, Strahinja Aritonović, the School of Football has received a number of calls for participation in other tournaments, and we can rightly say that we expect many more success from these boys.
