The sixth regular session of the Communities Committee was
held today in the hall of the Municipal Assembly of Gračanica.
The meeting was chaired by a representative of the Roma
community and the Chairman of the Communities Committee,
Millaim Eminović, who firstly introduced the members to the
Agenda.
The minutes of the fifth regular session, held on July 4, 2019, was
adopted and the current situation in the communities was
discussed then.
Eminović thanked the Municipality of Gračanica for all the efforts it
was making to improve the life of the Roma community and
pointed to the problem of waste located near the Roma cemetery
in Preoce. He said that he had already discussed the problem
with the authorities and the problem would be resolved in the next
two days.
Both the representatives of the civil sector and representatives of
the Consultative Council for Communities were interested in the
opinion of the communities on the performance of the Municipality
of Gračanica in solving their problems.
In this connection, the results in the last year of which the
inclusion of minority communities in the internship process, the
Roma cemetery and housing care are just some of the achieved
results, were highlighted.
The Director of the municipal Finance Department, Slaviša Ničić,
informed those present that the municipality would soon start
organizing public debates regarding the planning of the municipal
budget for the coming year, one of which will be organized for
representatives of Roma and one for the Albanian community. He
called on the committeemen to inform their community about this,
so that everyone can take part in budget planning in a relevant
way.
