Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović received a KFOR
delegation today. He discussed the security situation and
deepening cooperation with new KFOR Colonel Robert Hughes,
who has recently took office of a regional commander from Nicola
Perrone.
The newly appointed KFOR Regional Colonel was interested in
the security situation in Gračanica municipality and cooperation
between the Municipality of Gračanica and KFOR so far.
Mayor Srđan Popović told KFOR representatives that the
cooperation so far had been very successful not only in the
security field but also in helping many institutions.
He noted that in cooperation with KFOR, primarily good
cooperation with Colonel Perrone, the municipality helped the
preschool institution “Đurđevak” but also many citizens
individually.
Popović thanked the former KFOR Colonel Nicola Perrone for
successful cooperation and expressed his hope that this
cooperation would continue with the new Colonel Hughes.
The Mayor of Gračanica municipality also familiarized the new
KFOR representative with the security challenges facing the
residents of Gračanica municipality.
It was jointly assessed that mutual cooperation was necessary
and that, in order to preserve security, the constant involvement
of citizens and police authorities was needed as well.
