“Probudi svest omladine” (PSO) (Awakening Youth Awareness)
organization distributed leaflets to citizens in the center of
Gračanica today, informing them of their right to free access to
public documents.
According to PSO representative, Jovana Đorđević, their activity
today is part of a project that addresses the involvement of young
people in the decision-making process, as well as informing them
about their rights.
"We have made leaflets informing citizens how to obtain a
document in the possession of a public authority, which relates to
everything that the public has a legitimate interest in knowing.
First of all, we wanted to encourage and involve young people in
the decision-making process or strategies related to youth”,
Jovana said.
This activity was also supported by the Municipality of Gračanica.
Today, the PSO booth was also visited by a part of the leadership
of this local self-government: Deputy Mayor of Gračanica
municipality, Saša Danić, Education Director, Brankica Nićić and
Director of Economic Development, Nebojša Milovanović.
Deputy Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Saša Danić emphasized
that the local self-government was operating in a transparent
manner and it advocated greater cooperation with citizens, as well
as their participation in the decision-making process.
Speaking about access to public documents, he emphasized that
the area was regulated in detail by the Law, and that local self-
government enabled the applicant to access the documents in
accordance with legal provisions.
Today's PSO activity was conducted with the financial support of
UNICEF.
