The final public debate on the budget of Gračanica municipality
for the citizens of Gračanica, Sušica and Novi Badovac was held
last night at the Cultural Center.
Directors of Municipal Departments, Deputy Mayor Saša Danić
and the Chairman of the Municipal Assembly of Gračanica,
Ljubiša Karadžić presented the plan of the municipal budget for
2020 to the present residents, which according to the draft
amounts to € 8,101,328 of which € 2,545,217 or 31.42% of the
total budget was allocated for capital projects.
The requests of the villagers mainly related to the infrastructure,
primarily the continuation of paving the local streets, the
rehabilitation and installation of public lighting in some parts of
Gračanica, as well as the regulation of traffic signs at major
locations, especially the intersections.
The citizens of Gračanica pointed to the high-traffic on the
thoroughfare through Gračanica, stating that it was very crowded
and posed a great danger to the villagers because traffic
accidents occurred almost every day due to inadequate speed.
The residents of Novi Badovac asked for the construction of a
sports complex for the youth to gather, while the residents of
Sušica pointed to a problem with the sewerage of a family that
was the only one not connected to the sewerage network, as well
as widening of the village bridge to increase traffic safety.
Representatives of the Municipality of Gračanica heard out the
opinions of the villagers and announced that a large part of the
money was invested in the housing of the villagers and other
infrastructure projects. In this regard, the Director of the Municipal
Department of Urban Planning, Dejan Jovanović, said that the
construction of a residential building with a total of 36 apartments
was underway in Gračanica as well as the construction of six
houses for socially vulnerable families. He announced that next
year significant funds would be spent for the same purposes, but
many other infrastructure projects were planned. What is
important, Jovanović points out, is that everything ends as
planned and within the deadlines this year.
The adoption of the final budget is planned for the end of
September, at the regular session of the Municipal Assembly of
Gračanica.
