Acting Director Dragan Kukurekovic said that by the end of August the cooperative will have been ready to provide service to farmers in the municipality of Gracanica.
Kukurekovic said: “The machines are ready to help the farmers in the territory of the municipality of Gracanica in pre-season corn harvesting.
According to him, the advantage for the Cooperative and machinery services have the members, but it is open for all farmers regardless the land they cultivate.
“The members will have a discount of 15 to 20 percent for land cultivation, and for the others we will create price list”, Kukurekovic said and added that farmers in the territory of the municipality of Gracanica cultivate about 13 thousand hectares of land.
The tractors and machinery was donated by EU Office in Kosovo, and the cooperative currently has nearly 90 members.
The municipality of Gracanica is cofounder of the Cooperative with a task to oversee the entire project in order to prevent potential abuses.
The aim of the cooperative is to join individual farmers in the territory of Gracanica Municipality for the purpose of easier and more quality participation in input markets and finished products.
Agricultural Cooperative in Donja Gusterica, which opening is expected by the end of the month, got two new tractors and implements.
