Natural characteristic of a bronze monument is the development of a layer – "patina", over time. Of course, it should be controlled and there shouldn’t be too much of it, but complete removal is not possible and advisable, because its presence in some parts of the monument represents the protection of a monument and its complete removal would endanger the bronze.
The municipality regularly monitors the state of public monuments and memorials, and the plan for work implementation has been made in accordance with the funds coming from the budget.
After placing the monument of Milos Obilic at the Square in Gracanica, the municipality of Gracanica acceded to the partial sanitation, minor conservation practices and cleaning of the monument in the past few days.
