foundation stone for building a house to the Maksimović family in
Livađe today. The socially vulnerable family and young married
couple at the same time, the Maksimovićs are one of six to which
the Municipality of Gračanica will build a new house by the end of
the year.
Construction of houses for the Simić and Stanojević families
began last week. By the end of 2019, the Municipality of
Gračanica will build a total of six houses for socially
disadvantaged families. Two are under construction and the
foundation stone for the third, to the Maksimović family in Livađe,
was laid today.
Mayor of Gračaica municipality, Srđan Popović said after laying
the foundation stone that in accordance with its capabilities, the
municipality would assist all citizens in housing care.
“Every house built is a plus for us because it is very important to
start our families here and to help each other as much as we can
both as a municipality and as people. We need to be united, we
need to know what we are doing and we need to look to the future
if we are to survive in this area. I am proud of every foundation
stone I have laid so far. We won't stop at this. We have three
other families left to be provided with housing in the next 15 days.
I'm especially happy because the Maksimović family is expecting
arrival, so the baby will give a special charm to everything we do",
Popović said.
Nemanja Maksimović, who will move into the new house with the
family by the end of the year, says he is especially happy today
because the roof over its head is one of the most important issues
in the life of every family.
"We lived with our parents in an old family home of 36 square
meters – that is to say, nine of us. Now, the uncles, to whom the
house also belongs, are back and want to live there. This home
means a new beginning for my child and my spouse, who is
pregnant. Thank the Mayor of Gračanica municipality Srđan
Popović for helping us with this", said Nemanja.
The laying of the foundation stone for the construction of a house
to the Maksimović family in Livađe was also attended by the
President of the Temporary Body of the City Assembly of Priština,
Ljubinko Karadžić, who said he was pleased with such events
because it was a guarantee that the family would remain in
Kosovo. Karadžić said new jobs were also expected soon, which
were also essential to stay and survive.
