Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović handed over
computers and projectors to several elementary and secondary
schools today. In the coming days, other schools in Gračanica
municipality will receive valuable help.
Together with the Director of the Municipal Education
Department, Brankica Nicić, and the President of the Temporary
Body of the City Assembly of Priština, Ljubinko Karadžić, the
Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, visited the
elementary school in Ugljare first, where he handed over
computers and a projector.
The computers were then given to the elementary school pupils in
Sušica as well as high-school students of the Electrical
Engineering School, which operates in the building of this
elementary school.
Popović greeted the children and wished them much success in
further education. He emphasized that the Municipality of
Gračanica would always be there to improve the education
system and help with everything it could.
“We have repeatedly emphasized that the priority of the
municipality is to create the best possible conditions for the
education of our children. As I have heard, the computers will
mainly serve in the IT classrooms and some schools will use the
computers to promote electronic grade books. The Municipality of
Gračanica will surely stay on track to create better conditions for
the education of children and for the work of the professors
themselves to impart as much knowledge as possible", Popović
said.
Director of the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering, Milan
Dimitrijević, thanked the Municipality of Gračanica for the
donation in the form of computers adding that the work of the
schools would be quite difficult without the help of the local self-
government.
“Without Gračanica municipality, we would not be able to move
forward because our funds are limited and all the assistance
regarding the procurement of new funds comes from the
Municipality of Gračanica itself and the Temporary Body of the
City Assembly of Priština, which provides assistance through the
Office for Kosovo and Metohija. This assistance will significantly
contribute to further development and work, especially for us, who
have to follow the trends of development and improvement of
information technology and computing", said Dimitrijević.
Today, a total of 10 computers and a projector were distributed. In
the next days, 15 other computers and 8 projectors will be
distributed to other primary and secondary schools in the territory
of Gračanica municipality.
