Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, visited the football school “June 28” in Donja Gušterica tonight at the invitation of the trainers of that school.
On that occasion, Popović handed the T-shirts with the coat-of-arms of this school, training bibs and balls to young footballers, the school attendees.
Popović pointed out that after the football air dome in Donja Gušterica had been built with the funds of the local budget, the football school “June 28” soon began to work in that village.
“We visited this football school to see how they function and whether they are satisfied with the conditions. We handed over modest gifts to them. I am satisfied with the fact that the object we built last year has come to life in this way, that it is in full function and that about 130 children train here. In addition to the school “June 28″, there are two more – in Gračanica and Ugljare. I hope that, thanks to them, a good football will be played in Gračanica municipality and that as many children as possible will be on the field, because in this way they get the right values”, Popović said.
Popović stressed that the Municipality of Gračanica was obliged, inter alia, to work in the development of sports and to help sports clubs.
“First of all, we want to help younger categories, to involve as many children as possible in sports activities, to provide them with good conditions for dealing with sport, because they represent our future”, Popović said.
130 attendees are currently acquiring basic knowledge about the most important side thing in the world at the Football School “June 28”. Their trainers thanked for today’s visit and modest gifts.
“This football air dome was built last year and it was too much needed for such a big village. The school has been working for three years in Gračanica, and Donja Gušterica since recently. We thank the Municipality of Gračanica and Mayor Popović for help, we hope that we will achieve even better cooperation, that they will be with us and our children”, said coach Ljubomir Đekić.
Beside the football school “June 28”, there are two similar schools in Gračanica municipality – the Football School Gračanica, which counts 120 and Football School Ugljare, which is attended by 75 young players.
As announced, the Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović will visit these schools very soon and provide adequate sports equipment.
