The Department of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports will conduct this activity in front of the school buildings in all places in the municipality of Gracanica.
Through its activists, the representatives of the municipal Department of Education will distribute leaflets that give informations to drivers about the beginning of the school year. At the same time a caution in school zones is required from the drivers.
"This activity primarily wants to influence the change in the negative behavior of drivers and all traffic participants that they should pay attention to children as well as to drive slower in areas where there are schools," said for the website of Gracanica Municipality the director Dragan Dimitrijevic.
According to him, the potholes were repaired and pedestrian crossings were marked in front of school buildings in the last few days, in order of increasing the security of movement, both the students and other participants in traffic.
Dimitrijevic said that in order to improve working conditions and residence of students in schools, the municipality of Gracanica renovated and reconstructed a number of schools during the summer break. The schools got whitewashing material and hygiene products.
Anent the beginning of a new school year, the Department of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports of the Municipality of Gracanica launched the campaign "Slow down near school", whose goal is the protection of children in traffic.
