The fifth regular session of the Communities Committee was held today in the hall of the Municipal Assembly of Gračanica.
The meeting was chaired by the representative of the Roma community and the President of the Communities Committee, Milaim Eminović, who familiarized the members with the agenda first.
The minutes of the first extraordinary session held on June 6 this year was adopted, and then the current situation in the communities was discussed.
Chairperson Eminović informed all the present that the problem of registration of the Roma cemetery had been finally solved, thanks to the Municipality of Gračanica.
The session was also attended by the Education Officer Boban Marinković who, speaking about the Roma community, informed the members of the Committee about the recently launched one-hour show in the Romani language at Radio Gračanica. According to him, there are works with representatives of the Council of Europe on the extension of that show for another hour, as well as launching a TV show in the Romany language.
A six-month report on the work of the Office for Communities and Returns was considered and adopted at the session. One of the topics of the Communities Committee was the current situation in education, on the enrollment in primary and secondary schools.
