Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović opened a new children’s park and a playground in Novi Badovac. Children and locals are satisfied with the new space.
The newly opened park extends over an area of 12 ares and contains modern equipment for the youngest (a merry-go-round, a slide, swings, teeter-totters, a gym), while the elderly will have a place for rest (benches and tables were set).
Popović said that the locals of Novi Badovac got a decorated space, where children and elderly citizens would spend their free time.
“We continue to arrange our municipality. I am satisfied with how we have arranged this space in Novi Badovac and I have a lot of heart when I see that there are so many children, according to information, there are over eighty children in this place who, thanks to the park we have built, will have where to play and come out with their parents. The Municipality of Gračanica will not stop here, the plan is to build seven more children’s parks, because the better conditions we create for the development of our children, the better we can believe in the future and survival of our people”, Popović said.
He announced that there would be investments in similar projects in the future as the ultimate goal was “a more beautiful and better arranged Gračanica”.
Urban Planning Director, Dejan Jovanović said that the children’s park was the result of a conversation with fellow citizens who propose their priorities.
“The German organization Preda financed part of the funds for the purchase of props, while the Municipality of Gračanica allocated funds for the landscaping of a surface of 12 ares, and we managed to greenish the surface with low and high vegetation”, said Jovanović.
The park made children happy the most, which was the goal.
“I love the park a lot, slide the most. We are very happy, because until now we did not have a place to play nearby. We had to go down to the settlement to play, now we will gather here and hang out together”, said Lazar.
“I am delighted with the gym, I will be able to practice”, said Marta.
