"An insufficient number of inspectors is the biggest problem in the functioning of our department because Gracanica municipality covers 130 square kilometers and we have only one building inspector. We tried several times to provide the additional workplaces through the Ministry of Finance but we haven’t received approval yet," director Milos Dimitrijevic said in radio Gracanica’s show.
As top priorities in work, Dimitrijevic specified stopping of illegal construction and prevention of illegal landfills. He says that by hiring an inspector for environmental protection the situation in the municipality will be improved and to this purpose, as Dimitrijevic announced, there are works on creating of an environmental protection regulation, which the municipality hasn’t had so far.
As for the illegal construction, Dimitrijevic said that the inspectors, every day during and after working hours and often at weekends, are visiting the field in order to check the factual situation. The problem still remains the fact that a lot of people are not informed that the paperwork has to be in coordination with the municipality and without arranged paperwork it is impossible to continue the construction.
Every day there are works on removing of prefabricated buildings in public places that threaten the implementation of municipal projects.
Director of Department of Inspection Milos Dimitrijevic mentioned: "Disinfection and deratization were carried out in all shops in Gracanica municipality and sanitary books have become a mandatory thing."
