The fourth Education Fair, organized by the Cultural Center “Gračanica”, was held today in Gračanica with the support of the Municipality of Gračanica and the University of Priština. Future students were greeted by Mayor Srđan Popović.
At the Education Fair, high school graduates had the opportunity to find out all the necessary information about the educational profiles offered by higher education institutions. According to them, the Fair is very helpful in the decision for further education and future profession.
The Fair was also attended by the Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, who, greeting future students, pointed out that the local self-government was constantly working to improve the conditions for education. Directors of municipal departments were also present.
“For our environment, it is very important that we have educated people, because an educated person is the pillar of every society. The more we are educated or taught, the more we will be able to defend our interests and ultimately survive here. Our situation is specific and therefore I have to congratulate everyone on the courage. In particular, I have to praise all the teachers who are trying to transfer their knowledge to students”, Popović said.
“It is up to us as an institution to work to make the conditions for education better and I hope that by the end of this year we will have completed the Secondary-School Centre which will mean a lot in that sense”, Popović added.
The fourth Education Fair was opened by a representative of the University of Priština, Vice-Rector for Teaching Prof. Dr. Jovan Bazić.
“Young people who choose their profession today will mark the middle of the 21st century, and the quality of their lives, their families, and the life of the society as a whole will depend on their education. That is why it is a great responsibility and a difficult task to choose the right profession”, Bazić said.
At the fourth Education Fair in Gračanica, ten faculties of the University of Priština presented their programs and profiles: Faculties of Law, Economics, Philosophy, Medicine, Agriculture, Teacher Training, Science, Technical Sciences, Arts, Sport and Physical Education.
Vocational schools also presented their programs: College of Economics Peć-Leposavić, which also has an outpost in Gračanica, Technical College of Vocational Studies from Zvečan, Technical College of Vocational Studies Uroševac-Leposavić. Representatives of Alfa BK University were also present.
