The streets in all the places in the municipality of Gracanica will get their names in the next days. There will be marked 287 streets totally, on more than hundred of boards.
As expected in the municipal Department of Urbanism, the setting up of the plaques with the names of streets and numeration of buildings will contribute to easier orientation, especially of strangers in our community.
The street names are written in Latin letters on a blue color, and the first board was placed in the main street in Gracanica. From the entrance to the village from the direction of Pristina to the roundabout in the center, the street will be named – Car Lazar, and from the roundabout to the direction of Kisnica – Milos Obilic.
An address plaque with the name of a street will be set up at the beginning and at the end of the street as well as at the major crossroads, on the right side of the street, or on the side where the plaque is more visible, and if necessary on both sides of the street.
After the setting up of the boards there will be works on the numeration of buildings. The address plaques with house numbers will be free for citizens, because it will be funded by the municipality of Gracanica.
The "Address System" project in the territory of the municipality of Gracanica, which includes the digitization of residential, commercial and public buildings, as well as the naming of streets, squares, boulevards and numeration of buildings, was funded by the European Commission and the Government of Norway and was implemented by Kosovo Cadastral Agency.
Within the "Address system" project, the first address plaques with the names of streets were set up today in Gracanica. The main street in Gracanica got the names of "Car Lazar" and "Milos Obilic".
