At the initiative of the Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, a meeting was held with the locals of Laplje Selo in order to solve the wastewater and unbearable stench from the Gračanka River which flows through the entire length of this village.
The meeting was held with the aim of permanently solving this problem, which makes life difficult in this village, especially in the summer months.
The meeting was also attended by the directors of the Department of Public Utility Service Vladica Trajković and the Inspection Miloš Aritonović, as well as the Commander of the Police Station in Gračanica, Bratislav Trajković.
Everyone agreed that this problem should be solved as soon as possible, and that all parties should be involved in resolving the problem.
A Commission which will go out to the field today, in order to determine the site of pollution and make a record on the basis of the existing situation.
The Commission consists of representatives of the Municipality of Gračanica, the police and citizens. Based on the established facts, the case will be raised to a higher level, a criminal report will be initiated, while the police will launch an investigation in order to find the responsible ones.
Regular meetings were agreed at the meeting until, as pointed out, the problem is permanently solved.
