The Municipality of Gračanica has equipped and completely arranged children’s parks within a total of seven educational institutions in the territory of the municipality. Mayor Srđan Popović visited nursery schools and elementary schools today where children’s equipment was installed.
Accompanied by the Director of the Municipal Department of Education, Brankica Ničić, the Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, first visited the nursery school “Đurđevak”, one of the seven institutions that the municipality has equipped with the most modern children’s equipment.
The children thanked for the gift with a song and play, and one of the children presented the Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, with an icon. Little Ognjen from Gračanica, who is attending kindergarten in an older group with his peers, enjoys a newly-developed park.
“Thanks to everyone who brought this to us. We are all thrilled, we enjoy. I like the slide”, says Ognjen.
Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović said that the Municipality of Gračanica would continue to invest in the development, upbringing and education of children, who were the future of every society.
“Today I have a lot of heart when I see this jolly and happy children. I am glad that the number of children in Gračanica municipality is growing from day to day. Every day, we have to show responsibility to these children because they are our future. In addition to this playground, the Municipality of Gračanica has completed seven more children’s playgrounds, among others in the Roma alley, Livađe and some other places, and we plan to arrange all the parks in the territory of the municipality. So far, we have managed to finish seven of them, but we continue”, Popović said during a visit to the nursery school in Gračanica.
Verica Arsić, the Director of the nursery school “Đurđevak”, which is attended by total of about 500 children with its outposts in other places and together with other nurseries in the territory of Gračanica municipality, says the joy on their faces tells how much this park in the institution, where they spend eight to nine hours daily, means to them.
“A huge thank you to the Mayor and the Municipality of Gračanica. We received all this equipment in three facilities. Today the joy is shared by children in Laplje Selo and Čaglavica and Gračanica. See their smiling faces. It is easier for us to work because the children now have something to play and deal with, and once again, I wish to extend a huge thank you on behalf of them and on behalf of the employed parents”, said Verica Arsić.
Brankica Ničić, the Director of the municipal Education Department, stated that the project had been implemented through this department and that the work on its continuation would follow very quickly.
“This is a long-term project – that is to say, a two-year project. The value of the project is 180 thousand euros, and in the near future, we plan to completely arrange the parks in other preschool institutions”, said Brankica Ničić.
Besides the arrangement of parks in “Đurđevak”, which includes the children’s park in Gračanica and Čaglavica, the Municipality of Gračanica has equipped the park within the Cultural Center in Gračanica, nursery schools in Laplje Selo and Donja Gušterica, a park within the Cultural Center in Dobrotin as well as the schoolyard in Lepina.
