The Municipality of Gračanica is one of the better in the implementation of the Law on Use of Languages, says Language Commissioner, Slaviša Mladenović.
The Municipality of Gračanica was visited by the representatives of the Office of the Language Commissioner who spoke with Mayor Srđan Popović about the implementation of the Law on Use of Languages in Gračanica municipality.
The Language Commissioner, Slaviša Mladenović, familiarized Mayor Popović with a survey on the implementation of the Law on Use of Languages, which the Office of the Commissioner planned to implement this year.
According to him, the survey will be done in all municipalities, because the citizens identified local self-governments as places where language rights violations are most common.
“Gračanica municipality is one of the better and there are no citizen complaints in that sense. It has minor difficulties, but much does not depend on the municipality itself, but the central institutions. I hope that after visiting all municipalities, we will come up with new recommendations, both to municipalities and central institutions, how to overcome problems in order to provide better services to citizens”, Mladenović said.
