Regional water company “Vodovod” informs that drinking water will be shut off during the night, or in the period from 22.00 to 6.00 in the morning due to increased water consumption and low level of Gračanica Lake.
This company says water restrictions will be applied due to high temperatures and high water consumption in the summer period.
The Municipality of Gračanica appeals to citizens to understand the restrictions and use drinking water extremely rationally.
“The inspection department will, in cooperation with “Vodovod”, start controlling the illegitimate consumption of water by negligent citizens, and apply the measures and penalties prescribed by the law”, says Vladica Trajković, Director of the Public Utility Service.
Trajković points out that at the initiative of Mayor Srđan Popović, a meeting with the representatives of “Vodovod” will be held next week in order to find the possibility of solving the problems and filling of the lake as in the previous years.
