During the meeting, representatives of women from Kisnica emphasized that they are actively working on improving of women’s rights, especially on the greater participation of women in politics. In conversation with Suncica Trajkovic, the president of the informal group of women of Gracanica Municipality, they said that among women of Albanian nationality from Kisnica there is a strong willingness to engage in decision-making processes, but they are often prevented from realizing their ideas in the right way due to present patriarchate.
The representative of women from Kisnica Havushe Bajrami said: "We have now started with the examination of women in Kisnica through a survey about what are their needs and opportunity. We expect this survey will slightly affect the change in their lifestyle. We want to start from the smallest problems such as the problem of attending parent-teacher conferences that are attended only by fathers up to that of encouraging women to become leaders of villages."
Suncica Trajkovic, the president of the Women’s Initiative of Gracanica Municipality, offered cooperation and any kind of assistance to women from Kisnica, in accordance with the authorities and abilities.
Women from Kisnica and Gracanica exchanged contact information in order to improve cooperation and alleviate the work of both parties.
Representatives of women from Kisnica and representatives of Kosovo Women’s Network have visited today Gracanica municipality and had a meeting with members of the informal group of women of Gracanica municipality in order to get acquainted with the needs and concerns of women.
