Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović, talked today with representatives of the Austrian companies Tirol and OSTAP about the implementation of the project for the construction of a completely new water supply system in Gračanica. Works should start at the latest within a month and a half, as highlighted at the meeting.
Mayor Popović points out that he is very pleased because the construction of one of the biggest projects in Gračanica municipality will start soon. A water supply system with a new network and two tanks will have been built.
“This is one of the bigger projects that is very important for the citizens of Gračanica, because the problem of water supplying will be solved in the long run. A completely new water supply system will be built, several-decades-old pipes will be replaced with new ones, and citizens will get healthier water”, said Popović.
Popović points out that the construction of a new water supply system is a project that this local self-government was unable to implement on its own, and it owes great gratitude to the Government of Austria which recognized the importance of this project for our municipality and citizens and approved the necessary funds.
The main contractor will be the Austrian company “Tirol”, through the company OSTAP, which representatives were given the letters of gratitude for their support and cooperation by the Mayor of Gračanica municipality, Srđan Popović.
“The contracts are already in force, we are starting with a detailed design that should be completed in the next month, and immediately after that, we will start all the construction works”, said Andreas Weiler, a representative of the Austrian company.
